Easy amp upgrade for Toyotas with factory amp behind glove box!

This NDA11005 is a solid little 5-channel amp that does a fine job of driving (4) door speakers and a passive subwoofer (or two :-). It sounds as if it's really all the amplifier one needs in a sedan!

I bought this because I could mount it to the inside/top of the glove box in my '05 Lexus ES330!

Like my older '98 ES300 and millions of Camrys, the ES330 has its OEM amp, with its connection to the factory speaker wiring, located behind the glove box. These amps are easily bypassed using whatever harness mates with the factory speaker wiring connector that unplugs from the amp (a BHA7712 BEST harness for the ES330). Also, it's a super-easy place to push 12v power in through the firewall, right alongside the wire bundle on the passenger side that's headed to the ECU (which is located next to the factory amp and speaker wiring behind the glove box :-).

The NDA11005 has excellent quality connectors on both ends and easily supports this placement in a tight-but-really-convenient spot. I did run a fresh fat speaker wire from the NDA11005 in the glove box to the trunk for pushing two new [4ohm, SVC, 400W RMS] subwoofers that are now connected in parallel. I'm loving this amp!
