Amazing SQ

These speakers sound great with all kinds of music! Amazingly clear highs with great midbass. Only negative is that tweeters are oversize, I had to cut a bigger hole for tweeter on door panel.

Tweeter is a little sharp for me but the set is build solid

Good sound. Unusually large speaker housing.

Just installed today in a 2007 Honda Civic. Replaced 11 year old Polk DB series speakers that had a blown woofer.NVX woofer housing is a bit deep so I had to modify my existing adapters to accommodate. Haven't pushed the woofers yet as I'm giving them time to break in.Tweeters are too deep. I couldn't mount them under the stock grills so I had to cut the grills and inset the tweeters within the grills, and they still don't have enough room for the speaker lip to sit flush with the grill surface. Not ideal, and I was a bit pissed about it. Surface mount is not an option as they would look absolutely ridiculous. However, they sound great so far, so I'm pleased. Hoping they improve with age.

Have these installed on the front doors of my f150 with the tweeters installed in the factory locations, the tweeters require a 1-3/4 inch hole saw bit if you are modifying a location this will give you a very snug friction fit. I used liquid nails LN-2000 in a thin layer to make sure they didnt slowly push out due to temperature changes.

I have them paired to a set of the NVX XSP652 in the rear, and am pushing them with an NVX XAD41 amp getting signal from my Sony XAV-AX6000 head unit off the 5v RCA pre amp outputs.

These match perfectly to the XSP652 in the rear for volume clarity, etc, and get very loud and play very clear provided you are doing what you can to keep noise down(low gain settings, aftermarket radio with high voltage preamps, keeping head unit volume below 80% and amp gain lowish).

The crossovers are fairly large and have a lot of empty space, and were a problem for my installation requiring a different install placement than planned. I wish they made them smaller and there really is no reason why the couldnt have.

The tweeters were pretty well balanced, but I turned down the top frequencies in my head unit eq two clicks to be less harsh at higher volumes(personal taste). These have excellent bass for 6.5 inch speakers but are still 6.5 inch speakers. I wish they made the 6x9 version of these in a component set. They are adequate for most music by themselves but I still recommend getting a subwoofer to fill in that lower range.

I have my HPF on my head unit set to 50hz with a -36db slope and that seems like a good place to start tuning with these.

Be aware that these do not include any mounting screws and will not fit any standard 5x7/6x8 to 6.5 inch adapter bracket, they have an over sized basket and the mounting holes for the speakers will not line up with those adapter plates and the speaker stops 2 inches shy of flush because the center hole is not big enough, these baskets too large to alter the brackets. I had to fab my own with some cheap plastic cutting boards, drill bits, and a oscillating multi tool.
